Director
Bobby Parks is originally from Birmingham, AL. He attended Mississippi State University where he received a BA in Psychology. But the most significant thing about his time there was that it was during his first year at the university that he came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
During the following 3 years he had the privilege of influencing his brother Benny (now a PCA pastor), his sister Beverly, and his parents Bob & Ann (now missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ) to come to faith in Christ. Upon graduation he joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. He spent 4 years working among university students on campuses in Texas and Georgia.
In 1978 he married Jan. After 18 months of marriage they moved to Johannesburg, South Africa as missionaries. For 3 years Bobby was the Campus Director at Wits University during which time he discipled many medical and dental students. The following 8 years he was the National Campus Director in South Africa, supervising up to 42 staff on 7 campuses. That position was then handed over to a South African in 1992. He also spent 6 years as the National Training Coordinator, responsible for training new staff and for Biblical training for all CCC staff in South Africa.
In 1994 Bobby & Jan began a ministry to business and professional people in Cape Town. They also started the FamilyLife ministry in Cape Town, speaking often on marriage and parenting in Cape Town, and training other speakers.
Bobby & Jan have two children, Beth Ann (23) and Nicki (21), both of whom were born and raised in South Africa and both of whom love Jesus. They are truly "African-Americans." Bobby & Jan love helping people mature and achieve balance in life.
